Town of Comox - 80th Anniversary Celebration Open House
Comox Archives and Museum and the Pearl Ellis Art Gallery
The Town of Comox is proud to announce a week of celebrations in honour of its 80th anniversary, marking eight decades since its incorporation as a Village Municipality on January 14, 1946, and later reincorporation as a Town on March 31, 1967.
The anniversary week will run from January 12 – 18, 2026, with a variety of activities designed to celebrate Comox’s history, local stories, and bring residents together in a spirit of pride and community.
On the official anniversary date, Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Town will host a Community Open House at Comox Archives and Museum and the Pearl Ellis Art Gallery from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The open house will feature the following:
Open ceremony – with a welcome from the Comox Mayor (list any others who will speak)
A special land acknowledgement – K’ómoks First Nation
Meet and greet with past and present VIPs and elected officials
Tours and exhibitions around the museum and art gallery
Interactive games and activities for both children and adults
