Waypoint Insurance was founded over 150 years ago on Vancouver Island when the BC Land & Insurance Group recorded it’s first transaction in the Comox Valley. Over the decades several small insurance groups were lead by a variety of owners , including Fred Bossom, Bent Harder, P.Anderton & Company and Hickey & Thwaites. Eventually, these insurance companies came together to be called Vancouver Island Insurancecentres.
In 2016, Vancouver Island Insurancecentres had expanded to the mainland, which lead to the rebrand of Waypoint Insurance, meaning ‘A Stop Along The Way’. A waypoint is a navigational marker, a stopping place on a journey – and that is what we are – a stopping place to help you embrace all of life’s possibilities.
Waypoint Insurance continued to grow on the Lower Mainland, opening branches in North Vancouver, Burnaby, Kitsilano, Maple Ridge and Langley.
Over the past 5 years, Waypoint Insurance has strategically expanded to one of the largest insurance brokerages across British Columbia, focused in both Personal and Commercial Insurance. Waypoint has 19 branches and more than 250 employees across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland.
